Mehsana: This case, which came to light from the Mehsana district of Gujarat, is not only shocking but also raises many questions. A family that left for Portugal in search of a better future is today held by kidnappers in Libya. The news of the kidnapping of a husband and wife and their three-year-old innocent daughter has thrown the entire area into panic. The kidnappers have demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore in exchange for the release of the family, which has further increased the worries of the family members.
According to Mehsana police, the kidnapped family is a resident of Badalpura village of the district. The abducted people have been identified as Kismatsingh Chavda, his wife Heenaben, and their three-year-old daughter, Devanshi. Kismat Singh was living a normal life in the village, and family members describe him as hardworking and calm. Today the same family is in danger in an unknown country.
Superintendent of Police Himanshu Solanki said that Kismat Singh's brother already lives in Portugal. Through that, Kismat Singh dreamed of settling there. The family took the help of an agent, who was reportedly sitting abroad, to reach Portugal. Police say that the agents involved in this entire case are not Indians, which has made the investigation even more complicated.
According to the information, the family had left for Dubai from Ahmedabad on 29 November. After this he was taken to Benghazi, a city of Libya. From here the contact with the family was lost. After some time the family members came to know that all three had been kidnapped. This news shocked the entire family.
According to officials, after the kidnapping, the miscreants contacted the relatives living in Mehsana. A ransom of Rs 2 crore was demanded over the phone. As soon as the family members heard about such a huge amount, the ground slipped under their feet, and they immediately sought help from the administration.
Mehsana District Magistrate S. Of. Prajapati said that the family members of the Chavda family had met him. After this, the state government and the Ministry of External Affairs were informed about the entire matter. According to sources, local MLA C.J. Chavda has also raised this issue with the state and central governments so that concrete and swift action can be taken for the safe return of the family.
At present, the family members are trusting the administration and the government. Every passing day is heavy for them. Since the matter is of international level, all eyes are on the initiative of the Central Government and the Ministry of External Affairs. The family members are just praying that Kismat Singh, Heenaben, and younger Devanshi can return to their home soon and safely.
